Pfizer Inc selects Bridgeline Software to Redesign User Interface of Web-Based Drug Development Application          

BURLINGTON, Mass., Feb. 22, 2006 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bridgeline Digital, Inc. (NASDAQ:BLIN), a provider in cloud-based Web Content Management, eCommerce and Marketing Automation software, announced that has been selected by Pfizer Inc, to revamp the user interface of a custom developed web-based application used internally at Pfizer by its researchers. Pfizer safety scientists are charged with researching potential drug candidates in order to ensure drug safety and efficacy. The state-of-the-art software application uses applied ontologies to enable these safety scientists to better strategize about drug safety during preclinical drug development.

Bridgeline provides proprietary user-centered design and development processes. Bridgeline’s usability approach for the Pfizer web application will be to redesign the user experience and the user interface so that Pfizer safety scientists will adopt the application for their work. Ashley Williams, Ph.D., a senior information architect and usability expert at Bridgeline, leads a team that conducts contextual interviews with the safety scientists who will use the program, to identify their needs and design a schematic framework for the application that meets those needs. Dr. Williams’ team then conducts usability tests with these safety scientists to ensure that the redesigned application is easy to use and navigate.
